Interpreter abort via subscript assertion failure
Published Jan 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reachable assertion in Jsish 3.5.0 allows local users to abort the interpreter by executing a crafted JavaScript file. The jsiEvalSubscript path in src/jsiEval.c processes a loop update that makes vp equal resPtr, then enforces their inequality with an assertion. Execution of attacker-supplied script content is required, and a successful trigger terminates the affected Jsish process without reported data exposure or modification.
