Interpreter crash via freed userdata access
Published Jan 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Heap use-after-free in jsi_UserObjDelete in Jsish 3.5.0 allows local users to crash the interpreter with crafted JavaScript. After a WebSocket object and failed number conversion are created, interpreter teardown reads freed userdata during hash-table cleanup. Executing the crafted script is required; the demonstrated result is an AddressSanitizer abort and service interruption, with no data impact reported.
