Arbitrary PHP execution via sandbox bypass
Published Mar 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Sandbox bypass in Fenom 2.12.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code through crafted templates. Template::getTemplateCode compiles template-controlled content into executable PHP without preserving the disable_native_funcs restriction. Exploitation requires an application to compile attacker-controlled templates with disable_native_funcs enabled, after which code runs in the PHP process context.
