Stored script execution via uppercase markdown markup
Published Feb 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Erudika Scoold 1.47.2 allows remote authenticated users to run script in another user's browser. The Q&A markdown editor fails to neutralize uppercase HTML markup, so attacker-supplied script is stored with a question and rendered to later readers. Posting requires an authenticated account and execution requires another user to view the crafted content, exposing that user's Scoold session data and page actions.
