CVE-2021-46363Public exploit

Code execution via unsanitized translation exports

Published Feb 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Formula injection in Magnolia CMS 6.2.3 and earlier allows attackers to execute code when a victim opens an exported CSV file in Excel. The Content Translation export writes attacker-controlled translation values into CSV and XLS cells without neutralizing spreadsheet formula syntax. Valid Magnolia credentials and a way to import a translation file or modify page properties are required; CSV formulas execute on opening, while XLS formulas require additional interaction.
