Local process crash via null-address read
Published Jan 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Denial of service in Moddable SDK 11.5.0 allows local users to crash the XS test engine with a crafted JavaScript program. The fx_ArrayBuffer_prototype_concat function performs a null-address read when ArrayBuffer.concat receives a non-ArrayBuffer object. Executing the crafted program is required, and the demonstrated consequence is termination of the xst process rather than data disclosure or modification.
