Process crash via null MFDouble field dereference
Published Jan 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
A NULL pointer dereference in GPAC 1.1.0 allows local users to crash MP4Box by processing a crafted SVG scene file. During MP4Box's -svg conversion, gf_sg_vrml_field_pointer_del dereferences a null MFDouble field without first checking it. The crash requires a user to direct MP4Box to parse the crafted file; the demonstrated consequence is a segmentation fault that interrupts that process.
