Authenticated file disclosure via unchecked path traversal
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in taoCMS 3.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through the file manager. The download handler in include/File.php accepts the path parameter and resolves ../ sequences outside the intended directory without validation. Administrator access to the file manager is required, and exploitation discloses files readable by the PHP process without altering them.
