Stack-based buffer overflow in Siemens Simcenter Femap 2020.2 and 2021.1 allows remote attackers to execute code via a malicious NEU file. The NEU parser performs an unchecked stack-buffer copy, accesses uninitialized memory, inadequately validates corrupting input, and can read past an allocated structure. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open the file, and code runs with the current process's privileges.
