CVE-2021-46151

Code execution via unchecked NEU parser write

Published Feb 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in Siemens Simcenter Femap 2020.2 and 2021.1 allows attackers to execute code through a crafted NEU file. The NEU parser fails to validate user-supplied data and writes past the end of an allocated structure. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or visit malicious content, and code runs with the privileges of the Femap process.
