Authenticated command execution via unsafe template rendering
Published Jan 26, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Code injection in ProductNotifyKit.doSendEmail in JPress 4.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary server commands. The method passes administrator-controlled emailTitle and emailTemplate strings to getTemplateByString, which evaluates embedded template expressions. Administrative template-editing access and enabled product-comment email notifications are required; a crafted product comment then triggers command execution on the server.
