Arbitrary file disclosure via traversal sequences
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in webp_server_go 0.4.0 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files through crafted image request paths. The HTTP image-serving path accepts ../ segments without restricting the resolved path to the configured image directory. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful requests expose files readable by the service process but do not alter them.
