CVE-2021-46064

Application compromise via malformed TIFF parsing

Published Mar 23, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

Buffer overflow in 32-bit IrfanView 4.59 allows attackers to compromise the application when a user opens a malicious TIFF image. The overflow occurs in the TIFF-loading function at address 0x413c70, where crafted image data exceeds a destination buffer, but public sources do not identify the routine or copy operation. Exploitation requires user interaction with an attacker-supplied file and can corrupt process memory or crash the application in the user's security context.
