Authenticated file deletion via fileUrl path traversal
Published Feb 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in Mingsoft MCMS 5.2.4 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files via /template/unZip.do. The endpoint accepts an attacker-controlled fileUrl value in TemplateAction and applies it to file deletion without confining the resolved path. A valid MCMS session is required, and successful exploitation can remove files writable by the service account, causing data loss or a service interrupt.
