Unrestricted file upload via substring suffix validation
Published Jan 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in saysky ForestBlog allows remote attackers to submit disallowed files through the image upload endpoint. The uploadFile handler accepts a suffix whenever it appears within a concatenated allowSuffix string instead of comparing the final extension against discrete values. No authentication requirement is published; the bypass permits a disallowed extension to pass the endpoint's suffix check and reach file handling.
