Unauthorized blog-tag creation via cross-site request
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in mysiteforme's blog-tag administration allows remote attackers to add tags via a crafted link. The POST /admin/blogTags/add endpoint accepts cross-site form submissions without an anti-CSRF token or origin validation and creates a tag from the supplied name. The attack requires a logged-in administrator to follow the malicious link; the documented consequence is limited to unauthorized blog-tag creation.
