Unauthenticated command execution via hostName injection
Published Feb 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Command injection in Tenda G1 and G3 firmware 15.11.0.17(9502)_CN allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via hostName. The formSetNetCheckTools function incorporates the attacker-controlled hostName value into an operating-system command without neutralizing command separators. Network access requires no authentication or user interaction, and successful exploitation executes commands within the router firmware context.
