Application crash via malformed SVG path
Published Dec 31, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Qt SVG 5.0.0 through 5.15.2 and 6.0.0 through 6.2.1 allows attackers to crash an application via a crafted SVG. QtPrivate::QCommonArrayOpsQPainterPath::Element::growAppend writes outside its allocated array when QPainterPath::addPath and QPathClipper::intersect process the malformed path. Exploitation requires an application using Qt SVG to parse attacker-supplied SVG content, resulting in an application crash.
