CVE-2021-45917

Authenticated code execution via forged server requests

Published Jan 3, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper authentication in Shockwall before 7.20.0401 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through forged server requests. The agent-side server-request receiver accepts requests without properly authenticating the server, while local registry data enables construction of a request that another agent trusts. Ordinary user access to an agent computer on the same local network is required; exploitation can control a second agent computer or interrupt its service.
