Stored XSS via Traffic Rules Name screen
Published Dec 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in OpenWrt 21.02.1 allows remote authenticated users to affect LuCI administrators through the Traffic Rules Name screen. The screen stores and renders a rule name without adequate output neutralization, allowing attacker-controlled script content to execute in an administrator's browser when the rule is viewed. Exploitation requires low-privilege LuCI access and administrator interaction; the documented impact is limited confidentiality and integrity loss without an availability effect.
