Authenticated code execution via traversal ZIP upload
Published Mar 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in PONTON X/P Messenger before 3.11.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a crafted ZIP upload. The Schema Set Upload handler extracts untrusted ZIP entries under config/Schemata without confining traversal paths, allowing a JSP file to land in webroot/imgs. Configuration Administrator or Administrator access to the normally internal web UI is required; requesting the uploaded JSP executes commands on the server.
