Arbitrary command execution via crafted DWG filename
Published Jan 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in FreeCAD 0.19 allows context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted DWG filename. The convertToDxf path in src/Mod/Draft/importDWG.py interpolates the filename into a command string passed to subprocess.call with shell execution enabled. Exploitation requires an enabled ODA File Converter configuration and user interaction to import the crafted file; commands run with the FreeCAD user's privileges.
