Root command execution via unsanitized name parameter
Published Apr 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in TerraMaster F2-210 and F4-210 TOS 4.2.X build 4.2.15-2107141517 allows remote authenticated users to execute as root. The hand_app action concatenates its name parameter into a command string that PHP passes to shell_exec or system without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Any authenticated non-administrator account can trigger blind command execution with root privileges, allowing complete control of stored data and device operation.
