Published Jan 13, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Code injection in JPress 4.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code by editing an article template. The template editor accepts Velocity directives that enable Fastjson auto-type, instantiate ScriptEngineManager, and evaluate attacker-supplied JavaScript. Access to the admin template editor is required; rendering the altered article executes commands with the JPress process's privileges.
