Server restart via unprotected administrative GET request
Published Jun 24, 2024 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in TruDesk 1.1.11 allows remote attackers to restart the server through an administrator's browser. The /api/v1/admin/restart endpoint performs a state-changing server restart in response to a GET request without CSRF protection. Exploitation requires knowledge of the deployed URL and a sufficiently privileged user to visit a crafted page, resulting in a restart and service interruption.
