File disclosure via exported note path traversal
Published May 5, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Path traversal in Bookeen Notea firmware BK_R_1.0.5_20210608 allows physically proximate attackers to read files from the device. Renaming a note to a parent-directory path and exporting it causes the export workflow to expose the underlying Android filesystem instead of confining access to note data. Exploitation requires physical interaction with the device interface; the demonstrated consequence is browsing and reading device files.
