Credential interception via plaintext HTTP authentication
Published Feb 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in TOTOLINK X5000R firmware 9.1.0u.6118_B20201102 allows remote attackers to intercept admin credentials via HTTP authentication. The admin interface transmits authentication data over unencrypted HTTP, allowing packet-capture observation of credentials in transit. Any attacker able to observe the router's network traffic can obtain credentials; the record describes credential confidentiality loss without evidence of configuration modification or service interruption.
