Command injection in NETGEAR router and extender firmware before the listed fixed releases allows remote attackers to execute commands via pre-authentication network requests. The vulnerable request-processing path passes attacker-controlled input to an operating-system command interpreter without adequate neutralization. Exploitation requires no credentials or user interaction and can compromise device confidentiality, integrity, and availability; affected models and fixed versions are enumerated in the NETGEAR advisory.
