Unauthenticated access to protected device functions
Published Dec 26, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authentication bypass in NETGEAR cable-modem and Orbi WiFi-system firmware allows attackers to access protected device functions. NETGEAR has not disclosed the affected component, request path, or authentication check that accepts an unauthenticated request. Exploitation requires adjacent-network access; no privileges or user interaction are required, and protected data can be read or altered and service can be interrupted.
