Application crash via freed Page pointer read
Published Dec 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use-after-free in WebKitGTK and WPE WebKit before 2.34.0 allows remote attackers to crash applications via malicious web content. During resize-event rendering, WebCore::Frame::page reads a freed Page weak-pointer backing object while inspector instrumentation resolves the frame page. A user or embedding application must process attacker-controlled content; the documented result is heap corruption and a reproducible application abort, not established code execution.
