Account takeover via reassigned password-reset email
Published Jan 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Privilege escalation in COINS Construction Cloud 11.12 allows remote authenticated users with HR access to take over company accounts. Personnel Workbench accepts an existing victim's System User ID when new personal data is added, letting the HR user replace that account's registered email address. HR permissions and same-company scope are required; the changed address receives a password-reset message that enables arbitrary account takeover.
