Excess daemon permissions via SciToken authorization
Published Dec 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Incorrect authorization in HTCondor 9.0.x before 9.0.4 and 9.1.x before 9.1.2 allows remote authenticated users excess daemon permissions. SciToken authorization handling interprets token attributes as granting capabilities beyond the scopes intended by the token. Exploitation requires possession of a qualifying SciToken and can permit unauthorized daemon actions such as job submission; the advisory reports no public exploitation.
