Password-hash disclosure via external entity resolution
Published Dec 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
XXE in KNIME Analytics Platform before 4.5.0 allows attackers to leak password hashes by inducing a user to open a crafted workflow. When a .knwf workflow is loaded, the workflow.knime XML parser resolves attacker-defined external entities and connects to an attacker-controlled server. User interaction is required, and server-loaded workflows cannot expose information from the remote server.
