Sensitive-data disclosure via cleartext HTTP entry points
Published Feb 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cleartext transmission in Cobbler 3.3.1 and earlier allows attackers to read sensitive data from HTTP server traffic. Multiple Cobbler server entry points send requests over HTTP without transport encryption, exposing their contents to network interception. An attacker must be positioned to observe the traffic; the published impact is disclosure only, with no reported ability to alter data or interrupt service.
