Published Jan 14, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Use-after-free in Format events in Adobe Acrobat Reader allows attackers to execute code by opening a malicious PDF. Adobe identifies Format event-action processing as the affected locus but does not disclose which object is freed or how a later action reuses it. Exploitation requires a victim to open the crafted file and affects 21.007.20099 and earlier, 20.004.30017 and earlier, and 17.011.30204 and earlier on Windows and macOS.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
