Arbitrary file deletion via unfiltered traversal paths
Published Dec 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in Taocms 3.0.2 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary files through the web-based file management function. The deletion logic in taocms\include\Model\file.php lines 60–72 accepts attacker-controlled paths containing ../ without filtering before removing the referenced target. The published demonstration reaches the function from the background file manager; files and empty directories can be removed, but non-empty directories remain intact.
