Authenticated code execution via traversable upload path
Published Mar 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in Tiny File Manager before 2.4.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute code by uploading PHP files into the webroot. The upload handler in tinyfilemanager.php builds fullPath by appending the unvalidated fullpath request value, so dot-dot segments escape the selected directory. A valid account and a PHP-executable destination are required; an uploaded web shell runs commands with the web server's privileges.
