Authenticated code execution via unsanitized GET parameter
Published Jan 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in QuickBox Pro 2.5.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands via a crafted GET value. The config.php code passes the GET-supplied value into shell_exec without neutralizing shell metacharacters or separating data from command syntax. A valid application session is required, and the media server's default root context permits injected commands, including sudo invocations, to control the host.
