Authenticated password resets via user-controlled account IDs
Published Jan 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Weak password recovery in Delta RM 1.2 allows remote authenticated users to reset other users' passwords through a web request. The /listes/DTsendmaildata/adm_utilisateur/send-mail.json endpoint accepts a JSON array of account IDs and resets each referenced account without verifying that the requester controls it. Any low-privileged account can trigger password changes for other users, disrupting their access while the replacement passwords are sent to the affected users' email addresses.
