Network-adjacent code execution via configuration-file injection

Code injection in Lexmark printer firmware allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code through the embedded HTTP server. The HTTP server fails to validate a user-supplied string before writing it to a device configuration file, allowing the value to become executable code. Authentication is not required, and successful exploitation runs code as the www-data user and permits device configuration changes.
