User-context code execution via Format event use-after-free
Published Jan 14, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Use-after-free in Adobe Acrobat Reader allows attackers to execute code in the current user's context via a malicious PDF. Format event action processing accesses an object after its memory has been freed; Adobe has not disclosed the affected function or lifetime transition. Exploitation requires the victim to open the crafted file, and successful code runs with that victim's existing privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
