Arbitrary code execution via Format action use-after-free
Published Jan 14, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Use-after-free in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 21.007.20099 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a malicious PDF file. Processing of a Format event action can access memory after it has been freed, corrupting the reader's memory state. Exploitation requires a victim to open the crafted file, after which code executes with the current user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
