Unauthenticated email disclosure via predictable profile slugs
Published Jan 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in BuddyBoss Platform 1.8.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to obtain every user’s email address. The profile-creation logic derives each member slug from the email address by removing symbols and replacing periods with hyphens. The public members list exposes those predictable slugs in default configurations without authentication, enabling bulk address collection.
