Authenticated file disclosure via unchecked download path
Published Feb 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in Xerte Project Xerte 3.10.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read server files via getfile.php. The handler checks only the file parameter's template-and-username prefix, joins the uncanonicalized value under USER-FILES, and passes the resulting path to readfile. The requester must be a logged-in editor with template access and a matching username; parent-directory segments can disclose files readable by the web server account.
