Unauthenticated code execution via crafted POST overflow
Published Mar 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Buffer overflow in TP-Link WR-886N firmware 20190826 2.3.8 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted POST request. Public records identify /cloud_config/router_post/get_reg_verify_code as the affected handler but do not disclose the overflowing parameter or unsafe memory operation. Network access is sufficient; no authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation executes arbitrary code on the router.
