File disclosure and denial of service via XXE
Published Dec 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
XXE in National Library of the Netherlands multiNER allows attackers to read internal files or interrupt service via crafted XML. multiNER/ner.py parses attacker-controlled XML with external-entity resolution enabled, causing declared entities to access internal resources. Exploitation requires an application path that passes untrusted XML to the parser; the documented consequences are file disclosure and service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
