Host code execution via QWeb sandbox escape
Published Apr 25, 2023 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Sandbox escape in Odoo Community and Enterprise 15.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute Python code through crafted QWeb templates. The QWeb expression compiler exposed the Python type global and did not reject generator gi_code access, leaving sensitive runtime interfaces reachable from template expressions. Exploitation requires administrator or similarly privileged database access and permits reading or modifying service-user files and starting processes on the host.
