Service crash via unchecked function pointer
Published Apr 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in FIS GT.M through 7.0-000 allows remote attackers to crash the database service via crafted input. Calls to do_verify in sr_unix/do_verify.c do not validate crafted input before using a corruptible function pointer, causing a branch to a NULL address. Network reachability is sufficient; no authentication or user interaction is required, and successful triggering interrupts database availability.
