Remote database crash via unchecked zero divisor
Published Apr 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Divide-by-zero in YottaDB 1.32 and earlier and GT.M 7.0-000 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash the database engine. The eb_div calls in sr_port/eb_muldiv.c fail to reject a zero divisor before performing arithmetic, terminating the process. Network access without authentication is sufficient; the reported effect is a service-interrupting crash without data disclosure or modification.
