Device reboot via non-object SetAutoUpgrade parameter
Published Jan 28, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Improper input validation in Reolink RLC-410W 3.0.0.136_20121102 allows remote authenticated users to reboot the camera via HTTP. The cgiserver.cgi SetAutoUpgrade parser applies the JSON subscription operator to a param value without confirming that it is an object, triggering an assertion and loss of the process heartbeat. A logged-in session reaches the flaw directly; chaining a separate authentication bypass removes that gate, and the bounded impact is a device reboot.
